Too much sodium is bad for you, we can all agree on that. The FDA says 2,400mg a day is the maximum. Going over increases your risk of heart disease goes up. So it makes sense that having a super low sodium diet, under 1,200mg a day, would be beneficial. Not so, according to a recent study commissioned by the Institute of Medicine and organized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The study found no benefit to such a diet and in fact found that in some people a low sodium diet could be just as dangerous as a high sodium diet. Like many things in life, moderation is the key.

24 Diner is not the first restaurant to occupy the storefront located next to the historic Waterloo Records. But it is offering a unique twist on the twenty-four hour diner that is worth checking out. 24 Diner has become one of my go-to restaurants downtown. There is never a long wait for a table and there is a wide enough variety of items on the menu that everyone can find something they want. My latest visit was with my girlfriend and my friend, Nathan, who came down from Dallas for a weekend in Austin. More
